How the terrarium builder works
-
1. Choose your glass
Start here, the size decides everything after it. From 20 cm for two or three plants to 43 cm for a bonsai
-
2. Add starter kit
Drainage granules, activated charcoal and substrate, the three layers under the moss. This is what keeps the water cycle going.
-
3. Add plants
All tropical species that like humidity and indirect light, so any combination you pick works in a closed bottle.
-
4. Add moss
Cushion moss covers the soil, holds moisture and gives the terrarium its floor. One portion is enough for most sizes.
-
5. Add cork
Natural cork closes the bottle and keeps the humidity in. An LED cork does the same and adds light for darker rooms.
-
6. Add tools
Long handled tools to place plants and moss through the neck of the bottle. Your hands will not fit in there.
